Featured Dish: Murgh Tikka Pizza
Tandoori Fusion's heart is with our authentic Indian dishes, straight from the kitchens of our owner's home country, but our soul lies in the special fusion dishes our classically-trained Indian chefs come up with. In this new blog series, we’ll be showing you some of our favorite dishes – both authentic and fusion – from across our menu. Each dish, whether it’s from northern or southern India, is hand-crafted in our kitchen using house-blended spices imported from India, farm-to-table vegetables from local Kentucky farms, and a whole lot of love.
This week’s featured dish is our Murgh Tikka Pizza. This pizza is cheesy, just a little spicy, and served on a fluffy naan crust. It’s great to order as a group snack when you’re sitting at the bar or on our patio during the big game, but can stand alone as an entrée as well. It’s one of our most fun Indian fusion spins, and one of our favorites!
We start with chicken marinated in our tikka masala sauce – which uses farm-fresh tomatoes in a rich, creamy sauce. The naan used as the base for the pizza is home-made in our tandoor, which is a traditional Indian clay oven used to make naan as well as our specialty tandoori chicken. We top the freshly made naan with tomato sauce, farm-to-table Indian peppers, and mozzarella cheese. Add the chicken and it’s perfection!
