Louisville Entrepreneur Plans Indian Fusion Restaurant

LOUISVILLE, KY –National technology services company founder Purna Veer is in the final planning stages to open an upscale Indian influenced restaurant under the name of Tandoori Fusion. The restaurant will be located off of US 22 near the Gene Snyder Expressway with the capacity to seat 130 diners. The restaurant will feature a large imported tandoori oven and will provide both dine-in and catering services. The restaurant is being designed based on influences from classical and traditional Indian restaurants located both in India and in larger metropolitan areas of the US.

Mr. Veer owns Veering Creek Farm in Smithfield, KY currently specializing in hops for the growing craft beer market and a vineyard for his personal taste in wine. Veering Creek Farm is the largest Hops yard in the state of KY and in 2016 began delivering fresh, locally grown hops to regional craft breweries. This will be the farm where Tandoori Fusion will receive specially cultivated and grown vegetables that are typically not available in this area for utilization in the restaurant. The restaurant plans to source directly from vendors or suppliers in India special spices and other ingredients to ensure that the food offering is as authentic as possible and seek Kentucky local farmers for other ingredients.

The restaurant will feature many classical Indian dishes but the menu will include influences from other cultures to provide a true fusion experience unlike any other Indian restaurant in this area. Dishes such as chili pepper shrimp, pork chop or lamb vindaloo, lobster pulao, chicken korma and salmon macchi will be core offerings along with many rotating seasonal specialties. The restaurant will also feature special and unusual appetizers some of which are based upon traditional Indian street food offerings.

The restaurant is scheduled to be open October 2, 2017 and will have seating for up to 130 patrons. Initial employment will include 20-25 staff and is expected to expand as demand dictates.

Tandoori Fusion was born out of a desire by Purna Veer, our founder, to bring the dishes of his home country, India, to his home in Louisville, Kentucky – with a little modern flare. We believe in a farm-to-table philosophy – with some of our fruits and vegetables coming straight from Purna's farm, Veering Creek. Simply put, we believe people should be able to eat well, eat local, and enjoy new flavors as well as familiar ones.
